About

If you are a member of the news group on BikeTravellers.com, you will automatically be able to post on the blog (and on the forum of course), so share all the cycling news you can find! If you want to post as well, just become a member (and get a free blog yourself if you want) on Biketravellers.com Blogs and join the news group!

It is mostly meant for info that will be useful for BikeTravellers, but other generic cycling news cab be useful as well. Therefore please make sure the news is related to at least one of these:

  • Cycling
  • Cyclists
  • Cycling gear
  • BikeTravellers
  • Cycling laws
  • Travel info that might be useful for cyclists

We will add some automatic streams of news about BikeTravelling, but own news is welcome as well! When posting news it is best if you write a short introduction yourself and then post the news item. Always make sure that there is a link to the source and if the news source is copyrighted, stick to a summary instead of copying and pasting the entire article. Thanks for your help and cooperation in promoting cycling news!

There are advertisements for gear and other cycle-related activities. We cannot choose what is shown exactly, so some ads may be inappropriate. The ads might be annoying, but often offer great gear deals. Also: when people visit the ads, it generates a small income to pay for the server, so we can keep the BikeTraveller blogs free (but do not start clicking away as it might get us banned from the ads system)!

Happy pedaling :)

David Bender (09:15:58) :

Hi Editor,

I’m David, a dad, husband, environmentalist and DIY enthusiast from Canada. I enjoy blogging from time to time and it makes me feel amazing when I inspire someone.

In this day and age, families spend less quality time together than ever before, and this trend is constantly on the rise. This is no news. Also, we are facing a situation where children never have an opportunity to be in touch with nature. They are growing up in a world of technology, alienated from all the wonders of the Wild.

I believe in the saying: Be the change you want to see in the world, so I have made a deal with my family to spend our weekends in nature. It has turned out to be wonderful.

The reason I’m writing to you is – I’d love to contribute to your blog with a story. My plan is to write a small guide which would inspire others to do the same as we did, followed with some busting of the most common excuses.

In case you’d like to see some of my previous stories, check out the following:

What do you think, guys? Should we give it a go?

Have a lovely day,
David
